Sunday Riley’s Luna: Is it worth the hype, and money?

Sunday Riley has caused so much commotion in both the beauty and blogging world over the past year or so with the brand being on the receiving end of so much hype, but with funky smells and hefty price tags, I was initially left thinking, “What’s all the fuss about?” It is due to the hefty price tag that this brand has unfortunately never made it toward the top of my list of things to try out. That is until the blogging beauties that are Anna and Lily collaborated with Cult Beauty to launch a limited edition Beauty Box featuring their much loved beauty items — including Sunday Riley’s Luna was a no brainer as they have both raved about it plenty of times. All I can say is thank the heavens for this wonderful beauty box — it may only have come with a travel sized 15ml sample of Sunday Riley’s Luna, which btw is such a cute size, but it was the perfect opportunity to finally try out the brand. Ok so I didn’t exactly pay full price for Luna, the beauty box totalled its full price tag of £85 but I got six more products from other brands. That being said, having been using it for a little while now, I am that in love with this product that I am already considering purchasing the full size. So in short, this product is definitely worth the hype, and money. Let me tell you why…

Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil is a vitamin and retinol based product meaning it is anti-aging, helps to minimise pores and improves the overall condition of your skin. The packaging is pretty luxe — a blue glass bottle with a white and gold pipette, allowing you to control the amount of product you use very easily. The product itself is greenish blue in colour, similar to the packaging, but contrary to most I do not find the smell of this product funky, or fishy at all but definitely botanical, reminding me of the Liz Earle Superskin range. I apply this as the final step of my evening skincare routine after my moisturiser, needing only a couple of drops to cover my entire face. Whilst massaging it into your skin you can not only already feel it working it’s magic but also the greenish-blue colour disperses, so no need to worry about that. This isn’t one of those products that sink into your skin immediately, it will need those precious hours of beauty sleep to fully absorb into the skin but it will leave you waking up in the morning feeling like you have new skin. That’s seriously the only way to describe it, your skin just feels incredibly smooth and fresh, so much so that when I don’t use this at night I definitely notice what I’m missing the morning after.

Luna has definitely got me wanting more from Sunday Riley and I’m curious to try out Good Genes, anyone tried it — What do you think?
