Build your Own Eyeshadow Palette
I for one don’t need anymore eyeshadow palettes, yet they just keep calling out my name! Another admission I can make from looking at my eyeshadow palette stash is that they are all similar…two words…warm neutrals! The point is, we know what we like and what we don’t like. But don’t you just hate it when you buy an eyeshadow palette knowing that there’s those one or two shades you know you will never ever use. Well, Boots have answered our prayers! They have teamed up with Make up Obsession, a brand owned by Tam Beauty who are the umbrella company behind Make up Revolution, to allow you to customise your own palette. The Boots Emporium features an entire wall of not only Make up Obsession eyeshadows, but blushes, highlighters and contour shades too, in both matte and shimmer finishes, that you can swatch and play with to create your own customised palette. With 6 and 12 pan palettes on offer (£8 and £10) in a variety of differing packaging – rose gold, yellow gold, white, black – you can build a palette that has everything you need. Prices start at just £2 for the eyeshadows with the blush, contour and highlights shades £3 each that you buy as individual pans, inserting them into your palette after, like you would with a custom palette from Mac. The shades are pretty pigmented and blendable for a budget beauty brand that even though they aren’t the best quality in the world, are certainly good enough for everyday wear. You can even take customising to the next level and get the palette engraved with either a name, initials or a message.
FYI – The shades in my palette are:
Top Row L-R: Highlight H102 Pearl, Eyeshadow E109 Champagne, Eyeshadow E143 Mink.
Bottom Row L-R: Eyeshadow E120 Rich, Eyeshadow E102 Taupe, Eyeshadow E119 Precious Metal
Create your Own Box
Yes, even Boots are jumping on the beauty box bandwagon with their own take on the trend! You can choose 3 sample size beauty products from either Benefit or Estee Lauder which will get packaged up in a beautiful pink and grey box and wrapped up in a bow, to make for a pretty gift this Christmas.
Personalise it with Engraving
You name it, they can pretty much personalise it – make up brush, perfume bottle, eyeshadow palette, compact mirror – anything with a hard type of surface that’s big enough for some writing. It’s such an easy process, one that’s so affordable too. You simply purchase the item you would like engraving, letting the assistant know at the till you want the engraving service, pay the extra £3, then take your receipt to the personalisation station and it will be done in minutes. You can choose the text, the placement of the text and sizing of the font, so it’s a completely tailored experience. I couldn’t resist getting my Real Techniques Bold Metals brush engraved with my initials on it – a great idea so no friends or family end up stealing them! As I was so proud of the palette I customised, I just had to have my name engraved on it too – it took me a while to settle on where I wanted have my name placed on it, but I finally opted for centred at the top, and I totally adore it!
