Olivia Palermo x CIate: The Fashion Edit

When the announcement came that Olivia Palermo would be joining Ciate as Creative Director this year, it of course sparked those thoughts of ‘oh here we go again, here’s yet another celeb collaboration’, but with this, it felt different for me. With Olivia’s personal style always being on point, of course this was going to work. Having released three nail polish shades for Spring/Summer 2015, Olivia is back with this limited edition nail polish set for the festive season. The Olivia Palermo X Ciate The Fashion Edit is designed with each Fashion Week in mind, hand picked by Olivia to represent her changing style as she jet sets around the globe.

The shades ‘Hutch’ and ‘Sunday’s’ have already been featured as part of the Spring/Summer collection, whilst Napa Valley is part of the current Fall collection. Brooklyn is a brand new never seen before shade that can only be found in this set.

Hutch, a classic red, for shows in the Big Apple
Napa Valley, a deep Bordeaux red, perfect for Paris
Sunday’s, a powdery pink, for her travels to Milan
Brooklyn, a deep purple, for her time in London

The formula of these polishes is pretty impressive. Formulated with an advanced Dual Polymer Mesh Lock Technology the polish is very easy to apply, long wearing and leaves your nails with a glossy finish. The inclusion of Volcanic Glass helps to plump and strengthen but also protect the nails, also contributing to the durability. Finally, not forgetting this nail polish formula is very quick drying which really speeds up the time it takes at home to complete your manicure (thank god! – who has time to sit around all day waiting for nails to dry?!) As with all my at home manicures, gel nails are currently my thing so I have used my Essie Gel Setter top coat to give it that extra something-something. Using this top coat my the nail polish stays chip free for 5 days but even after a full week, only a few nails have chips.

My overall impression of these polishes is that I am simply blown away by the quality. Having been wanting to try them ever since the collaboration first launched earlier this year, this was worth waiting for. At £17 for a full size bottle, this is a great set for any nail lover wanting a taster of this collaboration without pay over the odds for it. It would also make a great gift over the festive season, whether it be a stocking filler or not. Make sure you get hold of this beautiful set before it’s gone. It’s available from ASOS for £25 here in the UK. If you are lucky you may even find this in your local TkMaxx like I did with 50% off! Another TkMaxx bargain for me, I’m very proud of myself on this one.
