If you thought you had tried almost every kind of liquid lipstick out there like I did, then think again as Jouer’s recent launch means that there is a new formula out on the market to try, exhausting I know. Every brand is doing it now. But once you see the packaging and the shade range I’m sure you will be dieing to get your hands on them, just like I was. Since their launch a few months back I have heard a couple of people rave about them, even calling them the best of the best when it comes to liquid lipsticks. For me, that’s a bold statement to make as there’s just so many of that kind out there now, making it so hard to round up the best of the best. They are available in the UK on Cult Beauty so whilst I was shopping on there for something else, I decided to give them a go. I could honestly have bought the whole collection and this is the reason I am so bummed to not be on the mailing list for PR samples of such beautiful items like these. That’s the dream eh. All it took was a few moments and that was it, my hard earned money was gone but when I opened up that package, seeing them in person just gives me all the feels. They are so pretty…the packaging, the shades and their scent…just divine.
The Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks are now available in 16 shades consisting of everyday nudes, wearable pinks, vibrant reds and metallics too, so there is something for everyone within this collection. The names of the shades are inspired by French macaron flavours which to me makes the collection just that little bit prettier and more feminine. That extra attention to detail goes a long way. The doe-foot applicator is perfect for application, easy to define the lips and with just one swipe back and forth you can get great coverage. The scent is that vanilla-confectionary like smell, just like the Kylie Lip Kits but much more toned down which I think a lot of people will appreciate its subtlety. Whilst this isn’t the fastest formula to dry down on your lips, once it does it is going to feel incredibly comfortable, it isn’t going to crack or feel stiff at all, it’s almost like nothing is there. Having put these to the test, I have nothing but positive vibes: they are extremely wearable shades, comfortable to wear, buildable coverage, transfer proof, long wearing (6-8 hours), smooth to apply and not too drying. Even the metallics were easy and effortless to wear…speaking of which..one combination I am loving wearing is the shade Dulce De Leche with a little of the metallic shade Papaye dabbed on the centre of the lips to give them that shimmer and highlight. It just makes the lips pop. They are £14 each which I think is incredible value for money, as in my experience they really are the best of the best, something I can’t believe I am actually saying. I may have found the holy grail liquid lipstick product here with these, especially with the fact that I can’t fault any of the shades I have. For me it is very rare that when trying a new lipstick collection I like all the shades, it seriously took my hours to decide on which ones to buy and now I have them in person I love them all. If I had the money, I would happily purchase the entire collection.
