Build Your Own Birchbox is back at Selfridges, just in time for Christmas!

It’s like being a kid in a candy store, so I was thrilled when I heard the news that Birchbox were bringing back their collaboration with Selfridges, giving you the in-store experience of customising your own beauty box. Having already visited the build your own Birchbox store in New York, I had been pining for one here in the UK, so when they launched their collaboration with Selfridges last year, it was like all my prayers had been answered.

It’s all in those little details

So whether it’s for yourself or a gift to someone else, it’s fun to customise. Especially when it comes to beauty boxes. It ensures you come away with products that you are going to love, or at least have fun trying. When it comes to beauty boxes I am extremely picky, not to mention critical, because whilst I want to try new products I don’t want to waste my money either. So if you are keen to know what I look for in a beauty box, you can read all about it here. But I have to say that Birchbox is one that you can count on to impress, so I was an eager beaver to head on down to Selfridges once again to try out this fun experience.

Customise your box

Birchbox have changed things up a little this year by offering you two box designs to choose from – a funky silver holographic design that gives you those mermaid pastel feels when it catches the light, versus a vibrant two toned colour block design. Needless to say, I played it safe with the colour blocking. The cutest addition to the box design are the glittery stickers that you will find inside, allowing you to customise the look and feel of your box even more – what a pretty little gift this will make.

With 6 beauty samples on offer for £15, you get to choose one across the categories – skincare, bodycare, haircare – plus two make up items and a beauty bonus. Brands on offer right now include Elemis, Nuxe, Caudalie, theBalm, Ole Henriksen and Phillip Kingsley, with a product switchover coming part way through the collab in order to showcase more brands – giving you two reasons to visit Selfridges in the build up to Christmas! You can build your own Birchbox in the Selfridges London Beauty Hall until December 28th.
